Our Vision

THE BARS MANIFESTO

We as a culture come from an era where lyrics pushed and drove the hip hop scene, when you had to have BARS to be respected amongst the MCs and just sounding good wasn’t enough. You had to have the looks and the talent to be able to get on the microphone and rap about your own unique story. Whether it was on a stage, a radio station, on the block, at school or in your local neighborhoods, your lyrics meant everything. It was “Skills Over Politics”. Before you heard the hit singles, people wanted to know if you can rap, this was the purest form hip hop.

Seeing that part of our culture in danger of being diluted, Cease and A.B. created a show to keep the essence of our hip hop pure. Building a platform where you get to see your favorite industry and underground artists display their lyrical abilities on a show dedicated to power of vocabulary. Back in the good days you had shows like Bobbito and Stretch, Rap City the Basement, VH1 Raps, 106 and Park Freestyle Fridays, Funk Flex and now we bring to you Bars On I-95.
